Sapna Patel, Esq.

Sapna Patel, Esq. is an advocate for women's empowerment and international human rights. Currently, Ms. Patel is a Staff Attorney with the Sex Workers Project at the Urban Justice Center (UJC), where she primarily works with trafficked persons. Ms. Patel assists persons coerced into various labor sectors to report their abuse to federal agents, facilitate legal immigration status through T-Visas and advise them on criminal advocacy concerns. In addition, Ms. Patel provides a link between the voices of her clients and local, national and international policy and government agencies to ensure the rights of trafficked persons as victims, migrants, and/or sex workers are protected.
Prior to her work at UJC, Ms. Patel worked with various non-governmental organizations such as The People's Movement for Human Rights Education (PDHRE), Amnesty International, and the NAACP.
Ms. Patel earned her B.B.A. in Marketing from The University of Texas and graduated with a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2002. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
